sexual sideffects of ssri's

Posted by Brian on January 10, 2000, at 2:04:06

Is anyone happy about the effects they get from srri's. I personally like the added stamina I get. I've heard some have been prescribed for premature ejactualtion. Do women on ssri's have trouble orgasming too?

Brian, I have tried several SSRI's (Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft) as well as other AD (Imipramine, Serzone, Effexor). All the SSRI's had some negative effect on desire, arousal and especially orgasm. Now I'm trying Effexor-XR and so far, so good. But it is not an SSRI. The SSRI's helped with OCD and depression, but made me feel MORE depressed after a while, when I couldn't achieve orgasm.--Cindy W

Recently, I read about miaserin (sp?) which in one study was found to help women with sexual dysfunction caused by SSRI's. Anybody have experience with this?--Cindy W
