thanks for your responses about norpramin. i've noticed quite a few side effects from the luvox and norpramin, such as dry mouth, shakiness, little twitches, sweating, difficulty sleeping. my pdoc wanted to add lithium to this menu, but i've been reluctant to get the px filled. i don't want to take an additional med. i'm not obsessing as bad as i have in the past, but i'd really like to not obsess at all, which i've done in the past for quite long periods of time (not obsessing).

i was taking 60mg celexa, the highest dosage, when he changed me. i didn't notice any side effects. it brought my sex drive back which helped my marriage a great deal. i see my pdoc today and i really want to get his opinion on whether or not i should go back on the zoloft. the only side effect i noticed was diminished libido. what do you think? stick with the luvox/norpramin duo or try the zoloft or even the celexa again. or, is there something else i should be trying, such as prozac or paxil?

thanks!

Angela - Go with what resolved your depressive symptoms the best. If it was Zoloft and the side effect isn't that bothersome, then go back to this med. Zoloft can help with obsessing, too, but usually at higher dosages (eg 150mg - 200mg). You will need to titrate up to these dosages and give each level a chance to work (to minimize the final dosage). Also, remember to take the Zoloft with food to maximize the amount available to your brain.

Paxil would be my next choice if the Zoloft is not working well enough. It seems to work on obsessing better than Prozac (in most people), but the Prozac would work as well.

Hope this helps - Cam

he agreed to try the zoloft again, so i'll be starting titration tomorrow (that sounds so star trek-ish!). i'm hoping that the zoloft will work again because it helped my depression and obsessing when i took it before.

thanks for responding!
