A study presented at the 4th Intl Conf for Bipolar Disorder by JF Goldberg at Cornell concluded "AD induced manias arise in 1/3 of bipolar patients with comparable frequency across AD classes, and regardless of the presence of concomitant mood stabilzers". An added note, the worst psychotic manic episode I have ever had occured within 3 days of started Prozac. Thought I would pass this along... judy

I am not diagnosed (by my doc anyway!) but I found that AD made me feel a lot worse and a lot crazyer, told doc -he asked if I had been reading any of the articles on prozac making depression worse (this was about 5 years ago). now on depakote for around two weeks and feeling a lot better, either naturaly or by the effexor falling out of me or the depakote -or maybe all of the above. I will keep you all posted as two how this all turns out.
