Hi,
I read on an earlier post by Elizabeth that benzos have various effects on hormone levels and various components of the endocrine system.
Are either of you aware of any that could adversely impact on sexual function? Xanax (3mg/day) definitely decreases my sexual function. I am extremely vulnerable to this side effect from many medications.
I read that benzos can elevate prolactin but my prolactin level was normal. I did test low for testosterone and LH and I am waiting to see the endocrinologist. I could not find any data implicating benzo influence on these hormones. In the meantime, any insights that I can pursue before my appointment?
BTW, is it true that Klonopin affects sexual function less than Xanax? I would have thought that (being fairly similar chemically) Klonopin, Xanax and Ativan would be pretty similar in this respect.
Thanks a bunch.

Hey
the last question, about Klonopin and its sexual side effects-to be totally honest with you, for me-its been a "viagara" if you will. I'm not saying this is the norm, but the only side effect I have is my girlfriend telling me to leave her alone....
Talk to your doc, continue the research. Like Ive stated before-klono has done WONDERS for me.
good luck!
andy
