You mean being able to lower them due to the effects of Neurontin? Sure! In the first place, you can do anything, as long as the combination isn't toxic--there really aren't any rules. The art is to balance good effects and side effects, and I sure needed less benzos when I was taking Neurontin. Am I answering anything?

I take a relatively high dose of Neurontin (3000 to 3600 mg per day) for mood stabilization, and yes, my anxiety has gone way down, and my mood is on an even keel. I always have Xanax around for temporary use, such as for sleep, and for incidents of exacerbated anxiety. But my use is pretty infrequent, average of 1 or 2 mg per week. Does this help?

I take 2000 mg per day and find it quite effective in controlling anxiety.
