Any suggestions?

I started at 5mg daily, went to 10mg week 4. Did not get "benefit" feeling until week 9. First 6 wks were pretty bad w/SE's, all gone now except mild jaw clenching.

I was unable to do anything physical until around wk. 6. Prior to that any exertion would leave me nauseous, light-headed, winded easily, and fatigued.

DR told me Lex may not show indications it is working for 6-8 weeks, should at least give it that long befor you decide.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

I'm new to all of this and was put on Paxil at the beginning of March. Once I reached 25mg CR and asked to be changed because of the sexual side effects. I was put on Lexapro approx. 4 weeks ago. After two weeks at 10 mg I was still suffering and my Doc. raised it to 15mg. I have been at this level for 5 days. I have episodes of anxiety that builds up to depression because of the length of the anxiety. I have not reached the full benefit of the Lexapro yet. I am currently coming out of one of my episodes I hope. I also take .75 of Xanax four times a day to help fight the anxiety. I don't think this helps much, but it's all I know and it helps me to talk. Any comments anyone? This is all new to me!

I switched from Zoloft to Lex and for the first two weeks I was fine. I upped it to 20 mg for abaout 2 1/2 weeks and my anxiety/panic attacks did not subside. Even took Xanax and that didn't really help. I switched back to Zoloft about 1 1/2 weeks ago and just increased it to 150 a couple days ago. I still get nervousness and will take a Xanax to help. I was not like this until I switched to Lex and now I guess it will take time for Zoloft to kick back in. I am trying to be patient but it is hard. Doc told me to check back in a couple weeks to see how I am feeling. I just hope it kicks in soon! It's an aweful feeling! Good luck!

I had a rough weeks 4 and 5 on Lexapro, increased anxiety and depression. I started at 5mg, went to 10mg at end of 4th week, now into 5th month at 10mg. Anxiety and depression lessened through week 9, when I actually felt "BETTER", and am glad to say I'm doing GREAT now. I feel like my old self again - happy go lucky devil may care "Butterfly"!!

Hopefully your anxiety and depression will lessen as you get further along. Most literature, studies, DRs, claim it may take 6-8 weeks to notice benefits.

Best of luck to you!!!
