Amisulpride, fluoxetine, and Dopamine Agonists?

Posted by jodeye on May 31, 2003, at 18:04:31

Hello,

I have taken amisulpride and fluoxetine at different times in the past, each with a little benefit for my social phobia/fatigue. I have now started taking 50mg amisulpride again for 12 days now, and just today added fluoxetine 20mg. I hope that the combination of the two will more than double the results.

If necessary, I might like to add a dopamine agonist such as Mirapex, Requip, or PerMax. I know very little except what Ame Sans Vie provided about Mirapex.

Does anyone know about dosing of Requip and PerMax when used for dysthymia or social phobia? Do you know anything about long term negative effects? Thank you.

PS: I just bought fluoxetine 20mg x 30 at Costco for $7.29. How could this be? Walgreens sells it for $55, and charges $96 for the name brand Prozac. I am very happy.

Afterword: When looking for a new psychiatrist, I think a good screening question (while talking to his/her nurse on the phone) would be... Does Dr. X often prescribe off-label medications.

i think there were several questions formulated back in 1999... have you ever prescribed MAOI + TCA? have you ever prescribed stimulant for depression? .......... have you ever treated a patient with ___, ___ and ___ ... how are they doing now?
