hi Ross - here's your own personal pep-talker! (or whatever I'm supposed to be)

Be patient - I know how badly you want it to start working. Many years ago, when I first started taking ADs, imipramine, each day went by & I felt the same. But three weeks to the day, when I woke up, I realised I felt glad to be awake. It was so weird. Down previously, then "boom!" day 22 felt great. You'll get there yet.

Ross,

Are you still taking Zyprexa? I'm a bit obsessed with Zyprexa at the moment because it's the only thing that seems to be helping me. Hastn't it helped you at all?

Is it legal to tinker with a low dose of Provigil to help with the mood and BP? I have seen a few posts of people combining Nardil and Provigil. Provigil is an agonist at the alpha-1 noradrenergic site, which is what the zyprexa is blocking and may be exacerbating the bp issues.
I wouldn't want to exacerbate anxiety or bring on a hypertensive crisis however as I am not too familiar with this area.

Just a thought.

John

Hi John.

Did it work for them?

Last I checked, Provigil was deemed not to work directly on the NE alpha-1 receptor.

Ross, I'm not Denise, I'm Shrimp. I have severe, severe atypical depression. At its worst i cannot remember my own phone number, and i literally can't talk. It's scary, as you probabably know. I started taking Nardil recently, and i was hoping you could help me. I have been on 45 mg. Nardil for 5 weeks, just upped it to 60 about a week ago, slight improvement in mood, but bad daytime sedation and nightime insomnia. I'm also on 300 mg. Wellbutrin. How long did it take to kick in for you? I'm running out of options, and i'm feeling really hopeless because Nardil is supposed to be one of the best AD's for atypical depression, and if this doesn't work, I'm ready to throw in the towel because i have tried everything. I would appreciate any insight you could give me.
Thanks, Shrimp.
