I started with a new p-doc a couple of months ago - and he ordered a full blood test just to rule out any physical causes of my panic disorder. Found out my B12 levels were way too low. Had another test a month later to see if it improved - only slightly but still too low. My diet was fine (I'm not vegetarian) - and apparently it's probably the effect of being on the contraceptive pill for the last 10 years that has depleted my levels. (it interferes with the absorption). Not a good thing when you have an anxiety disorder and B12 is essential for your nervous system. So if you've been on the contraceptive pill for a few years - you may want to have your b12 levels tested - or take a supplement.
