Well it's 2AM and I took my night meds about 2 hours ago. I am not even a bit tired!!! I thought about starting to take this Lexapro at night now to see if I sleep better. I am starting 25mg of Lamictal every day next week as I have been on 25mg every other day for the first 2 weeks. I'm not sure which is causing me this insomnia-but I pulled an "all-nighter" last night-I just wasn't tired. Not jittery as much-just wanted to go out, felt like I could go to work, and wake up and function. Really strange. Good but strange. Good-but not at 3AM! It did help me write a paper today though hehehe.
Had a litlle headache today-nothing big, no nausea, tomorrow Day 7.............Thanks

Hi.
I forgot to mention in a previous post that extreme sleepiness appeared during the second week of treatment with Lexapro. There was absolutely no sign of it during the first week. One poster observed that for him, the sleepiness was worst 10 hours after dosing.
Insomnia has always been a good sign for me that a drug was going to work. Everyone is different, of course.

I guess an important question to ask is if you are bipolar. If so, any reduced need for sleep must be scrutinized as a possible symptom of a switch into mania.

Thanks Scott,
I held off this AM to take the Lexapro tonight before sleep, I'll see how it goes. Yes, I am bipolar, I also am just starting Lamictal also, and have been taking Topamax for about 4 months. The depression is definately lifting however, if I can just find a way to sleep a little better. I did take Benadryl last night (allergies) and I actually slept well.
