That is the question. And would it be good for somebody that ultra rapidly cycles (same day)?

I just started Lamictal again a month ago and for me, it is more sedating. I tend to rapid cycle but very rarely. I just get mad when I get hurt-big difference there ;)
Good luck!> That is the question. And would it be good for somebody that ultra rapidly cycles (same day)?

Thanks for the response, Galkeepinon. Sedating doesn't sound too great, unless you're taking it for anxiety. Is it any good for cycling? How about cognition? Sedating usually means a negative effect on cognition?

As far as cycling-yes, it definately helps with my cycling!!! It did very well for me when I was on it before at a higher dose (don't know why I went off-probably because I was feeling better-not a good idea)-and I just am now starting to take only 25mg a day. By sedating, I meant when mixed with all my other meds I take at night-I sleep ok-(I apologize for not making myself clearer) Lately I've had a disruption in my sleep due to starting Lexapro-but Lamictal does help in conjunction with my night meds for sedation. If I took it alone, like I did in the AM last time I was on it-no I was fine-couldn't tell a difference.
As far as cognition, that didn't change either, not one bit. I actually felt more clear-headed.
Hope this helped.
Take care.

Yea, that helps a bunch. Thanks again. I've got my first Pdoc appointment ever next month. Think I'm gonna ask for some.

i thought i'd add my quick comments. i'm currently taking 300mg (150mg 2/day) and it's done a great job with rapid cycling. i started on 25mg 1/day but i didn't notice much change 'til i was at 150mg/day. i'm also taking 150mg/day effexor xp - my pdoc reduced that from 300mg/day at the same time she increased the lamictal dose.
This is the end of the thread.
