i'm thinking about searching for a doctor who will allow me to do a trial of buprenorphine. my depression continues to be treatment resistant. any experiences with this drug would be much appreciated, as well as advice on finding a doc willing to prescribe it.

I have been taking it now for several months & it is working better than any other antidepressants Ive tried & Ive tried a Lot! My advice would be to search out the journal refs on using it to treat depression - I think someone relisted the msg that has those a few days ago.
Take these to your pdoc & talk to him about it.

hi, glad to be of help. My doc didnt resist at all, like someone who wants to see his patients get well he is of the mind that if it works, use it!
Im on 2 0.2mg tabs 3 times daily. There has been no need to increase. I think the combined agonist/antagonist action helps avoid tolerance but I am not sure of that - I know nothing about pharmacology.
Good luck Craig, let me know how it goes pls

thanks again for being helpful. do you notice any rebound effect throughout the day? in other words, can you tell when your dose is wearing off and it's time to take another one?
