I've been taking Effexor XR over last year, mostly at 112.5 or 75 mg per day levels. I've been taking the 37.5 for a couple months, but wondering if it is actually doing anything or not?
Is it just my imagination? I've read that the therapudic level is at high levels, such as 75 or 150.
Maybe I'm just getting a placebo effect.
Just wondered if there are others there at this low level and how effective it is for you?

I started with only 37.5 and it worked great for me for about 2 weeks then I went off of it. I actually had some withdraw effects from that low dosage and that short time period. Nothing major, mainly bad headaches that would come on at around the same time I would normally have been taking the med. those lasted about a week and a half. My assumption is that Effexor is a pretty strong med. So it wouldn't surprise me if that low of a dose is continuing to work for you. I am by no means a Dr. this is just my opinion.

I tapered off of Effexor and was on 37.5 for a few weeks. when i wanted to go off I had dizzyness and headaches. I also got very moody and depressed again. my doctor had me take one prozac that would stay in my system for a month and help me get over the physical withdrawels and effects afterwards. it seems to have helped. my doc. slso said to me that that low of a dose wont do much.

Yup, my doctor called less than 35mg "almost homeopathic" (ha ha ha what rubbish) but it does make a difference when tapering off, definitely.
