Hi ya'll. For months I begged my doctor to take me off the Seraquel that I've been on for 4 years because I've gained so much weight on it (nearly a hundred pounds!) So now I'm off of it-and really miserable. I guess I didn't realize that the drug was what was keeping me on such an even keel, and that without it I would be so psychotic again. So, can anyone tell me how long it will take to adjust to being off Seraquel, and also about how long it takes for new meds (Effexorxl and zoloft and trazadone)to kick in? Also, would someone please tell me to stay on the meds and give them a chance to work. Thanks.

I was on that medication for a couple of years, and I found that my weight significantly increased as well. When I stopped taking it I don't remember feeling down or having an increase in psychotic episodes, but the weight just melted away (despite everyone trying to feed me up all the time).
Don't know what to say about the rest of your questions though...
... oh, and by the way TAKE YOUR MEDICATION! (though I can't exactly talk as I've been off mine for two weeks now...)
This is the end of the thread.
