Effexor + Nardil

Posted by ace on September 11, 2004, at 1:41:15

Tramadol is very close to Effexor pharmacologically speaking and I have had no probs combining Tramadol with Nardil....

So how would Effoxer (low dose) go with Nardil?

It wouldn't.

:-)

Big no-no IMO.

I experienced an immediate SS reaction when I took a single 18.75mg dose of Effexor while taking Parnate. I can't remember very much about it because I was dilirious for about an hour. One atom does a new compound make. If you are curious as to why, perhaps you can come up with some comparative values for 5-HT transporter binding or reuptake inhibition. I don't have any handy. My silly chart only uses '+' symbols.

Ace,

I know it must be hard when you still have symptoms lingering. I've had to take 10's of combos over many years to find some kind of balance, and I still don't feel I got it right.

What I do want to ask, though, are a few things. One, your OCD...does this involve doing a repetetive task after a thought in order to lower your anxiety? If so, can you give some examples? Second, have you thought of combinations of other drugs instead of Nardil, because you don't ever really seem to be pleased with it.

I am just asking so we can help you better. Please take care of yourself...and don't risk taking a too radical combo with Nardil.

Sincerely,
Jay

I agree with Scott--you would have an excellent chance of getting serotonin syndrome. You know, I still have some residual OCD, and I question if it's really all just about serotonin as far as the neurotransmitters involved. However, I haven't had a chance to do any research on the topic.

Hi Ace,

I think Effexor + Nardil is just as bad as Tramadol & Nardil. :)

How about Effexor without Nardil?

Cheers,
Paul.
