Cymbalta withdrawal and nightmares

Posted by Wildflower on February 9, 2005, at 9:25:23

I had been on 450 mg of wellbutrin which I successfully lowered to 300. Now I'm lowering the 120 mg of Cymbalta to 60 and I'm having horrible, tragic nightmares. Is this common? I remember having them when starting zoloft but never from decreasing a med. Anyone else experience this? Please tell me that it will go away soon.

I had some strange, disturbing dreams when I ramped down from 90mg to 60mg of Cymbalta, but they only lasted a few days.
I have had to stop taking Cymbalta cold turkey per my doctor's instructions. My blood pressure has been way too high. We'll see what the next week's nights are like. I do take Ambien for sleep, which feels like it inhibits my dreams. Might that help you?

Thanks PC!

I've decided to lower my doses due to the risk of siezure. I've been having slightly shaky hands lately and been really, really, warm. Also, the combo of high doses with alcohol doesn't mix well - at all.

I currently take klonopin for sleep but it hasn't been working so well since I've been lowering the doses.

Ambien definitely inhibits dreams. I can't remember when I had the dreams, while on cymbalta, or while lowering the doses. Fondly, Phillipa
