Anyone taking hormones w/Trileptal - Desperate!

Posted by TrishP on April 15, 2005, at 7:14:50

Ok - I've tried a million mood stabilizers - except the ones that make you fat. I'm alreay overweight, 37 year old female. Trileptal is the only mood stabilizer that seems to do any good. I was on a low dose BCP, but had breakthrough bleeding all month due to the Trileptal. I could up my BCP to a stronger dose - really don't want to, but I don't know what to do.

Is there anyone who has had success taking hormones and Trileptal? I need my hormones or I am a weeping, depressed monster (perimenapause).

Help

I'm not trying to be rude but I am afraid it is going to come off that way. If you bleed with your BCP and Trileptal, what difference does it make if others don't?

Are you trying to find out what BCP they use? I use a BCP and Trileptal with no problems. I was using Alesse for a long time and then started having bleeding throughout the month. But then I switch to Tri-Cyclen and had no problem. There was no correlation between the Alesse and the Triceptal.
