I have for a period of time taken 2 months expired Vivarint, or Vivalan (france), Viloxazina. I took it along with my paxil.
This was a month ago.
When i started taking it I felt more alive. More social. Wanting to meet ppl. Interests in daily activities would return. No longer would I feel like the days are just passing by. But also I would feel a bit strange. Perhaps because it is expired.
When I took it 1 year ago it was great. And without feeling strange. I felt a bit like my normal self before this Accutane/vitamintosis induced severe depression.
Members of the board have advised me to perhaps get my pharmasist to order it for me as it is not available anywhere but France.
I live in Canada. My pharmacist wouldnt do it. Another pharmasist wouldnt do it.
Do you think there is a change my old pdoc might?
I have been on 20 different meds. Nothing has helped. Paxil keeps me from wanting to die. Keeps me from living in agony every day of severe mental pains and feeling like a complete zombie.But I dont want to live just like this. It is not enough. I dont have motivation I dont feel alive. Nothing thrills me. Nothing hardly even interests me.
Vivarint at least changed that.
Dexedrine helped a bit too but it's not a long term solution. And when dexedrine wears off it doesnt feel good at all.
What on earth can I do?What anti depressants work similar to vivarint?
Most SSRi's made my depression and mental pains worse. Paxil seems to be one of the only meds to help.What else can I add? I have been taking fish oil for 3 weeks maybe. 5000mg a day with meals spread out. sometimes 6000mg a day. It doesnt seem to be doing much. Maybe it has some small effect but I cant really tell.
What options do you guys suggest?
Some meds I have tried are. Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa, Reboxetine, Zyprexa, Moclobemide, Ativan, Lithium, Adrafinil, Dexedrine, Ritalin, Effexor (made me much worse). and a bunch of others I cant remember right now.
Do you think a pdoc might be able to order the only in France available med?
I really dont know what the heck do to. I am posting today because the first time in a while I have had hope of getting better. Because today I have taken some vivarint and whatever it is doing it is already doing it. I feel more social. More capable of doing things. But this is Expired!!!! How long will i take this before I feel sick. I dont know.
I heard things about taineptine or whatever it is called. Does it interfere with SSri's?
What options do I have? ECT ruined my memory and concentration.
I hope there are more meds like vivarint out there.

Adam, I wouldn't worry about it being expired. You have quite enough worries already.
There must be some above board way of getting it from France. Internet appointment with French Doctor? Something like that?

Unfortunately viloxazine has a unique betamimetic action that no other drug on the market has, IIRC.

What dose where you taking? I tried it, with no effect. Perhaps I wasn't taking enough.
