Hi there, newby posting, others of you have probably already tried this option, but I thought I'd share it anyway. I was taking 150mg effoxor xl daily, got down to 75mg, then stuck. Hmm, i thought, now what?
Well, the way I came off it was to literally open every single darn capsule before I took it and remove an increasing number of the granules that make up the drug. I did this quite approximately to start, and guessed at how many granules I'd removed before I took the capsule.
In the final couple of weeks I literally counted out each single granule that I would be taking, so I knew it was as accurate as poss. Some day's I'd stick on the same number of granules as the previous day, so I gave myself a bit of time to adjust.
Doing it this way I didn't seem to have any real probs, and I'd been taking it for just over 3 yrs.
Hope this helps someone, when I'd forgotten to take it in the past I felt like I was gonna die! So definitely no cold turkey for me when I came off it!! all the best, Sassy
