effexor xr. can you take to much?

Posted by lmh on May 15, 2006, at 20:39:28

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is such a thing as taking too much of an antidepressant? My doctor tells me that there is no such thing, but after being on a constant dose for a while I start to feel doped up and spacy. My doctor will then increase my medicine which in turn only seems to make me feel worse. I have also been having a lot of headaches lately and feeling exhausted is this from too much medicine or is the med just not working for me anymore?

I don't know if you are on too much, but it is possible that you might just need to switch. Effexor gave me headaches and nausea. The side effects that you described sound like the common side effects of Effexor, so if they are making your life miserable, ask your doc about changing meds.
