Hi all. I am new to this site and would like to get some advice about switching meds. I was on Paxil for about 10 years. Starting at 20mg/daily and ended at 60/mg daily. I had a big weight gain when I began the 60mg/daily. I asked my doctor if I could try Effexor and he agreed.
I took the 37mg of Effexor a day for 2 weeks. I am now on the 150mg a day and have been for about 3 weeks.
I have lost most of the weight I gained with the paxil and seem to have a more "normal" appetite (as opposed to always being hungry like I was while I was on Paxil.)
But as far as how I feel? I am not sure. I had horrible daily headaches every day for the first week of taking the 150mg of Effexor. But that has passed now.
Does anyone have experience of going from Paxil to Effexor? If so, can you please let me know how that went for you? I take these meds for OCD, Panic attacks and General Anxiety Disorder.
