Is 25mg of Lyrica the usual dose? I just switched from Neurontin to Lyrica the other day due to the side effects and the lyrica seems to be doing diddly squat!! Is it because the dosage is too low? I was taking 300mg of the neurontin and it kicked in pronto. This Lyrica is like an imaginary friend in my system. Does anyone know what the usual dosage is?

It was posted here that low doses are good for sleep and high doses energy. What are you aiming to do? Love Phillipa

No, 25-50mg is a starting dose to see if your body can tolerate it and if any noticeable side effects (such as blurry vision) occur. I believe doctors have kicked it as high as 600 from what I remember a post on here, but certainly higher than that dose.-- tidings

Yes 25 mgs. of Lyrica is a very low dose. Most docs start with 50 mgs. tid (3 times a day). Stick w/it, it is twice as powerful as neurontin.

I am the person that was on 600 mgs. a day in divided doses, and it worked great for my depression because it energised me, in the 300 and below range it was sedating like a benzo. Good luck and don't give up on it, it takes at least 2 weeks to kick in.-Monte
