I take 100mg. It has a positive effect on my libido. Perhaps this is because of the sense of well being.

I don't know what it could be like on 200mg or higher.

Cheers

Provigil wiped out what little libido I had left. It had been previously reduced to almost nothing by the mix of SSRIs and other meds I take.

In addition, I started having major urine retention problems. That's because when my libido is suppressed by meds, so are all the other bodily functions down there. The sphincters don't relax, though. Just the opposite - they don't respond when I try to urinate. It feels as though they're disconnected. Evidently the default mode for me is "shut", and they're determined to stay that way.

In the past the solution was to reduce the dose of SSRIs I was taking. This made it easier to control the sphincters but it still took a long time to relax the muscles.

Now it looks as though the Provigil will have to go for the same reason. I'm not sure it was doing anything it was supposed to do anyway. I won't miss it.

So the short answer is yes, my libido was reduced. Since it was already low, I have virtually none now.

I'm not sure I care. That's what happens to me when libido goes away entirely. I just want to keep from being catheterized again.

My pdoc, md, and urologist are all keeping tabs on the situation. They also know that I'll just stop taking the Provigil if the retention keeps getting worse, so there's not much they can do besides advise me on how to stop it safely.

Good luck with your situation. Despite everything I've said here, I still believe that these meds affect different people in different ways. This means that even though your libido has been adversely affected already, anything can happen. It could stay the same, get worse, or get better. Who knows?

Best wishes,
Reggie BoStar
