Hello friends,
I have been taking 20mg Lexapro for about 2 years with few side effects, but not as much help with anxiety/depression as I would like. My psych-doc has decided that I should add 50-75mg of Zoloft to the Lexapro 20mg that I already take. This isn't meant to be a switch from one to the other, but a combination. Does anyone have any experience with combining SSRI's, or know if it is done very often? As of now, I am taking Lexapro 20mg AND Zoloft 50mg.
I should add that my doctor is experienced and knowledgeable, and has taught classes in Psych-pharmacology at a major university.

A lot of people go up to 40mg with Lexapro before moving on to augmentation strategies. However, I would not presume to know more than your doctor. Just ask him what are the risks of the combination to produce serotonin syndrome.
