A Return of [(Lithium)] Morning Sickness/ Med High

Posted by Dan_MI on September 15, 2010, at 12:29:18

Oy vey.

I take 1200 mg lithium b.i.d, or at least I used to until I spent the past month being a total assshole to the people I love, usually about an hour after taking my morning 600 mg of lithium.

Before that, without any changes to my regimen (20 mg Prozac, 200 mg Lamictal, 25 mg trazodone), I started to feel a weird sort of high throughout the day. And by high I mean illicit high, not mania.

I've since started taking all meds at night. The first night I peed my bed. Hasn't happened since and it's been 4 days.

I have no insurance or proof of residency (I moved to NY) so it would be difficult to see a doctor. Not to mention I am scared of getting a Dr. Mengele who would want to take me off lithium.

I'm just another American practicing medicine on myself.

I hear you. Lithium can do some strange things sometimes.

Its supposed to calm you down, and chill you out, but sometimes I remember it making me more angry and inpatient.

There must be a free clinic somewhere around where you live. Maybe they could help?
