Getting maintenance-med. from Nurse?

Hi:
Wonder whether any of you on this board is able to get the Maintenance-medications from nurse, not pdoc., if you are very stabilized.

The reason I'm asking this question is that my new pdoc. started to send my maintennce meds. to
the pharmacy BEFORE seeing me.
