Hi, I know that Seroquel lowers cortisol. Does anyone know if it lowers cortisol all throughout the day when taken at night, or just morning cortisol? I'm asking because I have high afternoon cortisol, and would like to try taking Seroquel in the morning to see if it would affect my afternoon cortisol levels. I know thjis is a particularly hard question, and am not asking for medical advice. I just want to know if anyone here knows any information about how Seroquel affects mid-day cortisol. I'll be talking with my doctor next week, but I'm very eager to see if taking about maybe 100 mg in the morning, could potentially lower my high afternoon cortisol. Also has anyone taken 100-150 mg(low-ish dose) of Seroquel for anxiety? If so did it help? Thank you and sorry for long post.

Seroquel (quetiapine) will reduce blood levels of cortisol during the day for at least 4 hours after taking it (in healthy volunteers). Perhaps using the Seroquel XR extended release preparation would prolong this effect.

Also do you know how significant the reduction is(it probably depends on the doasge I would assume)? I don't expect you to know the answer to the last one, but I just wanted to ask anyway. Thank you very much.

The dose used in the study was 150 mg.

I don't happen to know the answers to your questions here.
Sorry.
