Could I have my old posting name back please?

I don't feel like the same person being Horned One.

I think that theoretically you can go back to your old name by merely posting here under that old name that you previously posted under another name.

But in some cases there are issues with email changes or Dr. Bob forwarding the name. Those you have to email Dr. Bob directly to fix.

Thanky you Dinah. The problem is that I don't have the password for my old posting name. I got a new computer and the password is hidden in the cookies on my old computer. I did email Dr. Bob for the password, but got no response so I set up a new posting name instead.

The timeline for Dr. Bob is longer than for deputies. But if you haven't heard from him in a week or two, send it again.

However, if it's just the password, you can do a password reset. A temporary password is sent to the email address you registered with. It's on the registration page. I've used the password reset before and it worked for me. If your email address is still the same, it should work.

I tried the password reset twice, but got no response from it. I wondered if my old account had been deletd, but when I tried to register with my old name it said the name was already in use.

I don't think names are ever deleted.

It does happen from time to time. Dr. Bob can straighten it up, but it takes a while to get in touch with him. Keep trying.

Well.... Eventually.

I wouldn't count on him reading it here any sooner than eventually.
