This is very confusing to me with all "certain posters." And parenthetical asides. Are you talking about one person? Or several? I am new to admin but not to Babble. Overall, I don't like the tone of these posts. They sound like there is someone you wish wouldn't post. Is that the case?

I am unsure as to what those threads are about as the same as you have posted and if you can find out, I would appreciate it if you post it here.

There are a list of clarifications that I still am unsure of in the above posts. If you could clarify them for me, then I could respond accordingly. Could you?

I cant speak to all of what is being implied about Phillipa. I just happen to be aware that it is Phillipa to whom they refer because I saw this discussion start over on the meds board.

I continue to request that you not change the subject line to interject your name when it is already part of the subject line.
I have no problem with your style of subject line if it is contained in a thread that you yourself start.
Please be considerate of the designed organization of the Psycho-Babble boards to maintain thread themes.
Because it does not occur to some people to switch-back the subject line when replying to one of your posts, the whole board often becomes a series of "Lou's..."
I urge you to consider the altruism in keeping the integrety of threads for the good of the majority.
Thanks.

Wow I just visited admin and to mention a poster by name is that civil? I myself am shocked as I can't imagine what I've ever done as I try to help out Dr. Bob as a greeter and such. I don't understand what has happened to babble as I always thought it was to be supportive of others. That has always been my goal here or to learn from others with more knowledge. I feel we should always support others. Don't you? Phillipa

I've asked everyone, on another thread, to please keep the civility guidelines in mind.
Here is a link to the civility guidelines.
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
The civility guidelines are very clear. Even if you believe that someone else has been uncivil, you should not be uncivil in response. The FAQ give guidelines on how to be supportive to one poster without being uncivil to another. If you feel a post is in violation of the civility guidelines, you should contact administration directly using the notify administration button on every posting page.
If you receive uncivil babblemails, please forward them to Dr. Bob. Babblemails do fall under the civility guidelines.
Dinah, acting as deputy to Dr. Bob

4WD,
I am in agreement with you. I found this and several of the posts on another thread unsettling in their references to "certain posters". I read almost daily on several posts and I am not sure of whom this is talking about. I can honestly say I don't think it is myself since I haven't started a thread in a long while.
Now this being said, I think, and this is my opinion and I don't mean to upset anyone with my humble opin, is that under the circumstances of this board/s and the rules and regulations of Dr. Bob, there is no way to respectfully put out there an issue such as this without getting someone upset about it. This is just my opinion. I have witnessed many try to address this issue and it just never really goes well. It is unfortunate that sometimes real feelings cannot be put out there and acknowledged but the civilities guidelines are written such that it is hard to say much without stepping on toes. Just my humble opinion and I do not mean to offend anyone with this post, except Bob. He can't be offended I don't think. Another one of my observations.
Again, you may choose to ignore my ramblings as ramblings from someone who needs help and leave at that.

I just found the posts weird. It's like there's a clique of people who want some specific person to stop posting so much or to stop posting at all. I don't know who it is since nobody says. Everybody just keeps referring to "a certain poster." I think if you have an issue with a poster you should at least have the courtesy to use the person's name and not leave everybody in the dark. And if what you have to say is so unkind that it goes against the civility rules, then you shouldn't be posting it at all.
Just my two cents worth.

I agree with what you said about naming the person who is being referred to. You can see on the boards already different people wondering who is being referred to.
I guess it bothers me when something is said so indirectly that it becomes all the more obvious, but yet less able to be explored by either side (you know what I mean??....sigh)
...and I have to wonder, if some of this discussion might be better directed to the person referred to, and if it can't be said in a civil way...well than maybe it's not worth itbut I do realize that we are barred simply from putting real feelings out there because they can be viewed as uncivil
it's a conundrum

I agree. There are enough bad things going on in the world that deserve our attention. Why bash a well meaning, completely harmless person just because they're annoying you. I usually don't get involved in these things, but this is starting to piss me the hell off. I don't like to see people being picked on.

The thing is when no one is named, then some of us on this board to whom sensitivity is an issue, myself included, will start to wonder if it is them. And then they, like myself, will just post even less. I have my days when all I can manage is reading, no posting.
But I will admit the rules here have confined me, so I often delete my posts before ever posting them. I have a decided lack of posting confidence.
And so these kinds of threads where everyone seems to know but me, and 4WD is seems, is clueless.
But that said, it would hurt my feelings so badly to be named that I would leave forever so I am not sure going public with the name is appropriate either.
This whole discussion makes me anxious. So bye for now.
I hope Bob finds a way to address it swiftly and tactful.
rsk
ps thanks 4WD for the offer of help and/or support that is very much appreciated.

To support each other. And if there is anything I can do tohelp another poster then nothing would give me more pleasure. Only problem is I can't sit at the computer for very long as I broke my back about a month ago and am still in a lot of pain and sitting in this chair is very uncomfortable. But will post what and when I can.
You hang in there.

> rskThanks. I'm having surgery on Friday morning. It's minimally invasive, done laparascopically and supposed to relieve the pain quickly. Then I have to deal with withdrawal from narcotic pain meds. I've been on either Percocet, Lortab or Darvon for 5 weeks straight now and while I was in the hospital (when I originally broke it 6weeks ago) I was on Morphine (which didn't help) then Dilaudid (which did). Please send good wishes and prayers for the surgery. Friday morning at 10:30. I'm supposed to be able to come home on Saturday depending on how the surgery goes and how much pain I'm still having after the surgery. This procedure has about a 90% effectiveness rate so I'm really glad to be having it done. And I will be so glad to be off the pain meds. I have a prior history of opiate abuse and it has been a struggle not to abuse the meds I'm taking for my back. So I'll be really glad when I'm done with all this. Thanks for your post
