Should B12 be taken in divided doses? Can it be taken close to bedtime without causing insomnia?

There's no advantage to that. B-12 is stored in the body, unlike other B-vitamins.
> Can it be taken close to bedtime without causing insomnia?
If you're concerned about insomnia, take it in the morning.

> Thanks. I didn't know that B-12 is stored in the body. Why is it different from the other B vitamins?Because it's a B-vitamin by mistake. B-12 is cobalamin, a cobalt atom surrounded by something like the same structure as is the iron in hemoglobin. It's a crude estimate, but some people believe that your liver can store five year's worth of it. However, in the absence of adequate uptake from diet, signs of deficiency would show long before that. As the liver's stores decline, so would the actual amount released for use by the body.
