Larry, what do you think of.........

these folks at NeuroResearch (link below)....I've read elsewhere on the 'net where neurotransmitter levels can be tested very accurately......the NeuroResearch folks say they can test these levels and then raise/lower the levels accordingly via precise supplementation and in most cases get very good results.........one poster here ("ROO") has done this protocol with her doctor....the NeuroResearch site makes such sound, logical sense (it sounds good)....I talked to a lady at the company today who said that so many docs are calling after they hear about how well the method is working for so many folks....sure, you expect her to say that since she works there....but I'm wondering what you think of these folks and their method....http://www.neuroreplete.com/

They're a little bit arrogant about their claims, and I'm surprised they've managed to obtain patents, but I think their science is sound.

Believe it or not, I am actually going to look into this with a doctor named James Greenblatt. After a search, I have found out he is a psychiatrist/board member of the Harvard School of Medicine (I believe that is the correct name) and practices in both natural medicine and normal psychiatric medicine. Apparently he endorses the use of these products and this company. Hopefully he is taking patients.

5HTP alone cures almost every aspect of my depression/mood problems except for my sleep problems. So far nothing else has worked and I am very sensitive to meds. I will report back once I have heard more or if I find out if he is taking patients. I will also report back on any successes or failures if I end up going through with the process. I guess it is worth a shot!

Hi John,
I'm also looking into this. Keep us posted.

"5HTP alone cures almost every aspect of my depression/mood problems except for my sleep problems"

>>>>>>>> John, is your depression severe, moderate or mild? What all does the 5htp do for you (ocd? anxiety?) Take care!

I would say my depression is mild to moderate. Mood swings, irratible, and sometimes I just like to be alone.

SSRI's take all those to the extreme. I get a paradoxial effect with them. I was in a very bad state while on Elavil and for the 2 weeks after I stopped taking it while it was still in my system. I then popped a few 5HTP's when I felt my worst and felt MUCH better only a few hours later. Waited a few days before I tried more, Elavil still in my system and still feeling bad, popped a few more and felt great.

I almost feel 100% normal taking 5HTP alone now, but my sleep function still will not trigger. I am hoping the added supplements balancing out my system will put that back to normal hopefully. I was always predisposed to depression, but also think past Exstacy use plays a large role in triggering it.

Nasty drug, I get sick to my stomach thinking about how stupid I was to try it. It's funny because the Neuororeplete program has an extra step for people who's depression is possibly caused by illicit drug use.

I think I may try to contact the doctor tomorrow and hopefully get on the program in the next month or so. I will definitely let everyone know how it goes. Let me know if you decide to go through with it and what happens. Take care

Forgot to answer your question fully...the 5HTP relieves my anxiety big time and almost seems to lift the depression quite a bit. I have not had problems with OCD so I cannot tell you anything about that unfortunately. Good luck

Thnx John. Take care. Keep us posted. (nm)
