l tryptophan

anyone know the max dose in a day? ijust started 2 grams at nite and id like to find out what amount of l tryptphan would equal the max dose of paxil since i did really well on the max dose of paxil.
im following the directions in that holland study from a earlier post , but they just kist the 2 grams!

You can't make comparisons like that. You can't substitute a food extract for a particular dose of a pharmaceutical drug. It's comparing apples and oranges. You can't get apple juice from an orange, no matter how many oranges you have.

There is no upper dose level for tryptophan. That said, it would not make sense to ingest huge amounts of it. Adjust your dose based on your response to it.

Which holland study? Could you link to it, or describe it better?

I wish they gave more information about the study they refer to. I can't find anything like it in the medical literature.

I don't know why they chose a dose of two grams/day.

well i been on that dose about a week or so and have not improved but im getting some of the side effects that i got from paxil i n the early stages. dark eyes, hard to exsplain my eyes just look real dark andi yawn alot when first waking witch i dont usually with no meds.

ill give this a full month i guess and if nothing ill drop it!
