I recently switched SAMe brands and have been experiencing severe stomach pain (genuinely in the stomach area right under my rib cage and not further below towards the abdomen). The pain seems to be similar to a cramp yet more dispersed and it occurs several hours after I take it. It also happened when I tried taking it with food (soy milk and bread).
Anyone have any idea as to why this might be happening? I take 1600mg in two doses per day, although I noticed it occuring about 6-8 hours after one dose of 800mg. This did not happen with the brand I used to take (Pharmaton's Flexium SAMe which is now discontinued). Thanks for your input.

Are there 2 forms of SAMe, one of which is superior?

Apparently GI upset is common on SAMe. I don't know what you could do to allivate it, other than trying another brand.
Kind regards
