I e-mailed lipton about the content of the caffeine in their bottled ice tea and they never responded anyone know about what it would be. Thanks Phillipa

I don't know Phillipa, but one 6-oz glass of their regular green tea has about 45 mg.
Another thing that may be of interest to you is that green tea is supposed to have lots of flouride, which can potentially interfere with thyroid function. Others here know much more about this than I, so I'm just relating this info fyi. Peace...Saturn.

should be the same fluoride in green tea or black tea, if made with the same leaves. It isn't added or removed as leaves are oxidised.
similarly with caffeine I'd expect.. so don't avoid or changefrom green to black or vice versa just because of that.

No problem Phillipa. But don't stop drinking it just on the account of my info. Talk to your doc. On Dr. Weil's website he seems to think that the amount of flouride is not sufficient to cause any problems. Just wanted to inform you of the possibility. Peace...Saturn.

Saturn I was looking for the caffeine amount as they say one cup of coffee equals six on luvox and if green tea has it in it can't drink it with the amount of anxiety I have. Wonder why I can eat the dark chocolate truffles? Love Phillipa

I just noticed this older thread, and I wanted to remind you that, while any green tea will have caffeine, though considerably less than in coffee (shouldn't be more than the 45mg/6 oz quoted earlier, and possibly somewhat less), it also has various chemicals that relieve anxiety: theanine, polyphenols, and likely others. I can't drink coffee because of anxiety either--very unpleasant experience for me. But for me green tea causes no increase in anxiety, and I drink it all the time. Drinking large quantities is actually relaxing, oddly enough. You could look up theanine on the web, if you're curious.
