Metformin, Effexor and Serax

Posted by Emafer on November 11, 2003, at 15:25:26

Hello,

Several years ago now I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety I started on Prozac, but I've also taken Celexa and Effexor. During this entire time I've been on Serax as well. I've been on Effexor for over a year now and have been doing well.

About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS. i've been on Metformin since about August.

I've been really healthy I've had my heath under control and felt very strong.

Until about a week ago. For the last week and a half I've been completely losing it. I've had major anxiety, feelings of wanting to escape, lack of concentration etc. I went to the Dr. this week and she told me that she thought it was mania, that I might possible be manic depressive and that she wanted me ot go she psychiatrist.

I feel like she is wrong. I've known a LOT of manic depressive people and I don't have those symptoms. I do however have symptoms of SOME kind.

has anyone else had a problem like this while on these medications???

Thanks,
Em

Hi and welcome to Babble. There are several sites on this board. This one is Psychological Babble, about therapy and psychological treatments. I think you probably want the medication board Psycho-Babble, so I redirected your post there. You can follow the links at the top of this page, and see all that Babble has to offer, or go directly to your post at:

Hope this helps!

Dinah

PS I did have problems on Effexor with feeling agitated, and Metformin is Glucophage, right? It made me feel overall crummy. But all of it started right away as soon as I started the meds, not later. For what it's worth, and everyone being different.

This is the end of the thread.
